Casa
îmi desfac casa. ca pe o jachetă veche. trag de un fir și începe să se destrame. uite cum s-a dus tata, s-au dus copiii la casele lor, a plecat mama, ai plecat tu, iubitule, să-mi dai mai mult spațiu, să te uiți la mine cum mă agit cum nu am stare vreodată. a plecat james să-mi dea o lecție de răbdare. se pregătește și teddy, încet, încet. e tot mai puțin prezent în casa noastră. casa noastră nu mai există. doar amintirea ei. ce să fac cu lâna din jachetă?

Unde-aí mai fost ? Ce-ai mai văzut? Ce-ai mai făcut? Mumbai, Dubai, Kitai, Lume, lume… Colcăială de lume, Am văzut trecutul Am văzut prezentul Și … am plâns. De dor și de rușine. Things from the Past
My favourite Christmas ornament. yellow with little white and red flowers, probably hand painted. damaged and awkwardly repaired: wrinkled cardboard and old glue. a plain, boring and ugly object for today. no shine, no movement; no fragrance, no sound. an old object: just hanging in a fir-tree and capturing the light of the sun or the dining room lamps throwing them back not in thousands of sparkles, but in a faded, mellow, subdued radiance that brings to my mind so many memories. my first glimpses of life: the awe and mystery of Christmas. my first Christmas tree in a haze of memory or smoke from real candles - their grey, church-like-smell. the joy, the wonder, the security … sheer happiness… waiting for Christmas to happen. I look at the little sun shining, not burning, in my palm, in the fir tree in its storage box: all those memories come back! a life time of Christmases: rustling candies wrapped up in shiny silver and gold, the smell of oranges, a luxury. home baked sweet bread with lots of nuts, the whispers of parents and neighbours getting things ready for Father Christmas to come, laughter, apples, gifts, my first Jewish Father Christmas, the distant sound of carolers in the streets, orășelul copiilor, frozen feet and noses, boiled wine and spiced up țuica, poems in exchange of gifts, a this-small-dwarf-bathing-in-a-coffee-pot, Moș Gerilă … The pain of discovery, the denial of mythology, the happy sparkle of red wine, cigarette smoke, sausages and sarmale, cold cuts, stories, my own kids’ expectations, French perfumes, furs, American cigarettes. Stories … .
Lucruri
Globul meu preferat. Galben cu floricele albe și roșii, probabil pictat de mână ciobit și lipit stângaci. probabil banal, plictisitor, chiar urât pentru gusturile de azi. Nu sclipește nu vorbește nu cântă nu sare nu se mișcă Nu parfum Nu lumânare Nu face nimic doar atârnă într-un brad ecologic. Atrage razele soarelui ale lămpilor din sufragerie și le reîntoarce, nu în zeci de mii de scântei, ci într-o strălucire difuză care trezește amintiri. splendoarea și misterul Crăciunului, primul meu brad de Crăciun întrezărit ca prin ceață în cămăruța care mi-a fost primul acasă. Amintiri? Construcții? cum a luat foc și a ars primul meu brad de Crăciun. o lumânare adevărată, nu leduri. mirosul cenușiu de biserică. sentimentul miracolului, al siguranței și al fericirii pure când așteptam să se întâmple Crăciunul. micul soare îmi scânteiază în palmă, trezind o viață de Crăciunuri: bomboane foșnind în învelișuri de argint sau de aur, mireasma portocalelor, ce lux! cozonacul făcut în casă, cu multă nucă, șoaptele părinților și ale vecinilor pregătind venirea lui Moș Crăciun, râsete, mere, nuci, daruri, primul meu Moș Crăciun, Hanuka-fără-să-știu, sunetul depărtat al colindătorilor pe străzi, Orășelul Copiilor, nasuri, năsuce și picioare înghețate, arome de vin sau țuică fierte, poezii în schimbul darurilor, un pitic-așa-de-mic-făcea-baie-ntr-un-ibric, Moș Gerilă, durerea descoperirii, negarea mitologiei, scânteierea vinului roșu, fumul de țigară, cârnați și sarmale, răcituri, ciocolată, povești, dorințele copiilor mei, parfumuri franțuzești, blănuri fine, mai multe povești, dureri și bucurii, … povești.
